We work all year to get ready for the next Speedweeks and once it gets here we are going non-stop...until the day after the 500. Even that Monday morning is early because of the breakfast at Daytona USA. We are running and gunning constantly. With the updating of our website, blogging and getting to and from the race track (not to mention the races themselves) we are pretty fried once Tuesday comes around. Good thing we get along. We finally figured out how to work the DVD and we watched a movie. Tonight we are going to dinner at a place that is a favorite of many drivers. So many things have happened to us and around us the whole time we have been at Daytona that we haven't had much time to digest everything. It will be good to sit down to a quiet meal and start to sort out who saw what and who heard what.
We hope you all are enjoying reading our website. Especially our race reports. There is a difference in writing the reports at home and being at the track. We can't TIVO at the track! Nope, there's no way to get the drivers to stop and do their moves/crashes in slow mo. We do have Nextel Vision screens but it is still hard to keep track of everything. With the four of us we've been pretty lucky that we have all caught different angles and conversations from the track.
We've taken lots of pictures and we hope you all are liking the new shots. Stay tuned for more pics.

What a day! For some reason I couldn't sleep last night so I only got 5 hours of sleep...no wonder I'm pooped! Besides all the walking....oh my gosh! I swear we walked 5 miles just to get to the Fan Zone. It was a long and very boring walk. In fact, the whole time I kept wondering if this was really going to be worth it. Then we get the Fan Zone and we have to walk even further to get to the garages. Of course that was what we all wanted to see! So the first garage was Kevin Harvick's. I knew Tony Stewart had to be on an end because he is the champion. Little did I know it was almost 21 garage stalls down the corridor. Yep, more walking. But it was so cool. The window really does look right into the garage. I could only imagine that the crew felt like monkeys in the zoo. They kept walking up the window with the tools before they worked on the car. Kinda weird. Then I walked up the stairs to the the walkway over the garage. Even cooler. I was standing over Tony's garage and the main intersection close to the inspection area. I got so many great shots! We will be featuring them on the website so please keep looking for them. Oh yeah, we get to do this all over again tomorrow! We have Fan Zone tickets before the IROC race and the truck race. I better make sure I've cleared out my camera! In the meantime, I'm going to get a good night's sleep. Night all.....

You remember that sleepy Monday where we just sat around the condo....napping, eating and napping again? Well, there was one very important item that was accomplished that day. Lady S and I have been working for the last year to get the pictures just right for the website. Monday was the day we perfected the pictures! It took a long time and lots of mental work but we did it. We hope everyone is enjoying what we have done. Today we took tons of pictures and we have started putting them on the website. Check them out -- we'll be taking more tomorrow! Speaking of, I better get to bed so I can get up at 6:00 a.m.

So here we sit....waiting for dinner to be ready. Yep, it's been a real stressful day. Full of TV, naps, snacks and more food! Yep, the Ladies do know how to vacation! Lady K is making her spaghetti pie for dinner...along with a salad and garlic bread I know we will soon be very happy campers. Then it is off to Daytona USA. We need to check out the drivers and the schedule for the rest of the week. Well, I better get off my rear and see if we have enough tea for dinner.

You just can't imagine how many pictures we have taken so far! Lady S and I spent the better part of the evening sorting and purging pictures. We hope you enjoy what we have posted so far...I know how much we have enjoyed taking them! It's been a long day even though we didn't really do too much but eat, watch TV and go to Walmart. Ah, the life of vacation ....well, before the serious racing starts!

It's hard to believe that we finally got to watch the Budweiser Shootout! Geez, with all the rain yesterday it was so disappointing. So today, instead of being wet and cold we were just freezing! It was so cold in the stands! But thanks to Lady N we were treated to hot, hot chocolate (that actually tastes like hot chocolate in our nice new Starbucks thermos) and warm hands with heated hand warmers. Still, it was very cold but there's not much I won't do to see a race. We just posted the race report so I hope you guys read it. The race was kinda weird. Everyone seemed to be driving with too much caffeine in their system. Glad to see Jeff Burton and Jeff Gordon on the front row for the 500. Now we have to wait until the Gatorade Duels to see the rest of the field. I'm going to bed...it's been a long day!
It's early...the condo is quiet. Everyone is still sleeping but me. I've got to check the weather to see what is going to happen today so I can dress appropriately for the track. It's gonna be a long day. With all the events rained out yesterday now we will get them all in today! At least we will hear some engines roar and smell some rubber burning! Ain't it great!

What a big fat drag! Rain, rain and more rain. And, oh my the way, it's raining again! We were so excited to get to the track but it rained the whole way to the track and then the whole time we waited in the car. This time it was bearable. We had our scanners to listen to the track officials tell the crews to start blowing the track and then heard them tell them to stop. We heard that quite a few times. Thankfully, we are hooked up electronically and Lady N brought her laptop and we watched the Wedding Crashers. Actually, we didn't get to watch all of it because the race was called until tomorrow and we headed out of Dodge. Actually, we did the next best thing that we do....we went out to eat! Hey when the going gets rough the rough go out to eat. Tomorrow will be a full day but we are so anxious to see cars on the track I think even we can handle it! Until tomorrow!
Oh my gosh! Rain, rain and more rain! I swear we drove through so much rain to get here! Even though it's not raining (yet) it sure is windy. The wind is howling through the doors and windows. The condo is as beautiful as it is every year when we arrive. It's a little pricey but if you have to stay somewhere for two weeks this is certainly the place! We are all kind of settling in, getting ready to head out to the track. Besides the Bud Shootout tonight we will be watching the ARCA race. Not too many people know what ARCA is but it is a series where most of the up and coming drivers of NASCAR come from. Erin Crocker will be driving in that race today and we are all looking forward to seeing her.

It's me! Lady B! Live from down town Tallahassee, Florida! We finally made it. The Ladies left San Antonio late this morning. We overslept. It was kinda funny. Lady S shows up at Lady N's house thinking she was going to pick up her three sisters....all wide awake and ready to go. Well, only one part of that equation was right. The three sisters were there to be picked up but we were not wide awake or ready to go. Seems Lady N didn't hear the alarm. We were all so tired when we tried to catch a few Z's at midnight that I guess she either didn't hear it or snoozed the darned thing to death! Not to worry. The Ladies got on the road at 5:00 a.m. A little later than we expected but that's okay. The point is we have made it to our first destination - Tallahassee. Tomorrow we will head out for Daytona. The first race of the season is the Budweiser Shootout. Even though we will freeze our rear ends off (it's supposed to be 36) we will enjoy the first sound of the engines roaring for the opening of the season. I can't wait! Now it's time to get some more Z's. Hopefully, we will hear the alarm this time.
